MILLIONAIRE AIRMAN HIRES LARGE ’PLANE AS AERIAL “ GRANDSTAND ” TO FOLLOW COURSE

FORTY-ONE MACHINES left Hendon Aerodrome this morning for the two days King’s Cup Air Race around Britain. The competitors include three women, all flying Moths. Mr Van Lear Black, the millionaire airman, has hired a fourteen-seater ’plane as an aerial “ grandstand ” to follow the competitors.—United Service.
