This number includes the wives of some of the excursionists. A halt of ten minutes for refreshments was made at the station, where Mr F. W. Pawson, railway business agent, joined the party. They will arrive in Wellington this morning, commencing from that point a comprehensive tour of the North Island, in the course of which they will travel as far north as Whangarei. A large number of Christchurch folk gathered on the station to take the opportunity of speaking to Southland friends.
