LODGE MEETING.
The Pride of Christchurch Tent met last evening in the Y.M.C.A. Concert Hall, C.R. Brother W. Armstrong being in the chair. Four new members were initiated. A motion of condolence with Brother F. J. Smith in the death of his wife was passed. Sister A. Pycroft and Brother Bascand gave favourable reports on the recent visit of the Tent to the Good Templars’ Lodge. The Tent voted £2 2s to the Mayor’s Earthquake Fund. It was decided to elect a committee to help the superintendents of the Juvenile Tents, in the matters of finance and the further education of the children, the committee to consist of the present superintendent, together with Sisters Hastings and Pycroft and Brother Good. Sister Hastings briefly outlined the rules and the methods of awarding points in connection with the Canterbury Provincial Council’s initiation competition. It was announced that the prizes for the members recruiting the largest number of sisters had been awarded, to Sisters Whittingham and Smallwood. A new entertainment committee was elected as follows:—Brothers Good, Bascand, * Spiers, Armstrong, Gray (2), Jackson, Sisters Hastings, Smallwood, Josling, Pycroft. and Whittingham. At the conclusion of the business a varied programme of vocal and instrumental items, arranged by Brother W. Gray, was given.
