RAILWAY GANGER KILLED BY TRAIN.
MAN ON BRIDGE NOT SEEN BY ENGINE CREW.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 15. A railway ganger, Ambrose Gregory, aged 54, was run down and killed by a goods train from Palmerston North about eight o’clock, on the railway bridge over the Hutt Road. He was not seen by the driver and it is thought that he was kneeling down gauging the track and did not see the train coming.
