CANADIAN HOUSE DISCUSSES THE BUTTER IMPORTATION QUESTION.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received June 15, 9.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, June 14. The importation of Australian butter formed the basis of an attack on the Australian and New Zealand Trade Treaty in the House last night. Mr I. D. Cotnam (Conservative) asked whether the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Motherwell, considered the provisions of the Treaty in respect to butter no longer feasible. The Minister refused to discuss what was the matter with the Government policy, but promised to make a careful survey of the situation, adding that as a matter of fact the butter industry in Saskatchewan was showing a very marked improvement—Australian Press Association—United Service.
