VICTORIA LEAGUE.
A meeting of the Victoria League was held in the office, Cathedral Square, on Thursday, Mrs Deans presiding. Present: Mesdames H. Acland, G. Lester, G. Flanmer, C. Chilton, Bean, T. F Studholme, R. Hannah, E. G. Ilogg, J- G. Vernon, D. Gould, J. Watherston, J. F. M. Gibson, Misses Skoglund. R. Tabart (hon secretary), and Messrs H Miller, B. Sabill and V, F. A. Macbean (hon treasurer). Reports and accounts dealing with the Empire Ball were discussed, and a vote of thanks was passed to the sub-committee for their invaluable help in ensuring the complete success of the ball, both socially and financially, nearly £7O having been placed to credit. The Junior Associates, a new branch of the League, was arranged, and will help in the development of the work. Misses N. Deans, J. Maling, G. Maling, B. Bloxam, K. White and P. Wynn-Williams were elected. Owing to many inquiries as to the \vork and aims of the Victoria League, it was unanimously decided to distribute leaflets to those interested in Empire work. The next quarterly meeting, fixed for June, was postponed till July 24.
