£SOOO GIVEN TO PURCHASE RADIUM.
GISBORNE HOSPITAL IS MADE HANDSOME GIFT. B«r Pres® Association. GISBORNE, December 23. An offer of a gift of £SOOO has been made to the Cook Ho'spital Board by Mr John Clark, of Opou Station, Gisborne, for the purchase of radium to be used in the treatment of cancer. The only stipulation made by the donor is that the treatment shall not be restricted to inmates of the hospital, and that the benefits of treatment shall be available to sufferers amongst all classes of the community. Mr Clark has also given £4OO to the St John Ambulance Association towards a fund to. purchase a motor ambulance for the association.
