BOYS’ ASSOCIATION.

TRIAL MATCHES. On Saturday, two interesting trial matches in connection with the selection of the Canterbury Boys’ Cricket Association’s teams for the West Coast tour took place at the Hospital corner ground. The wickets, however, were not in quite as good condition as they have been earlier this season. SENIORS V. JUNIORS. 1 TTie first trial match took the form of a game between the senior and junior representatives. Neither team was quite at full strength but, although the scoring was rather low, the play was very keen throughout and the final result of a win by two runs for the seniors showed that there was very little between the two sides. Steady bowling and a well placed field appeared to be the main factors which brought about the relatively low totals. E. J. Nee, L. C. Henwood and W. M. Brown showed the best batting form for the juniors, whilst D. Cobden was the chief contributor for the seniors. A. H. Lee and E. J. Nee bowled really well for their respective teams. L. C. Henwood also kept a very steady length. C. J. Jordan was tried as wicketkeeper for the juniors but the experiment could not be termed an unqualified success. The detailed score was as follows: JUNIORS. First Innings. C. J. Jordan, c Carpenter, b Lee . . 4 R. F. Dobson, run out 1 J. A. Hooper, c and b M’Nish .... 4 W. M. Brown, b Westwood IS E.
