The Oddfellows Chambers, M.U., F.0.0.F., St Asaph Street, with its beautifully decorated Christmas tree, coloured lights and toys, presen ted* a joyous scene to-day, the occasion being the annual Christmas Fair, held by the Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge, M.U., for the enjoyment of the members’ children. After a brief address the N.G., Brother A. J. Sharman, introduced Father Christmas to the happy gathering of children and parents numbering close on 500. The. distribution of toys, balloons and lollies then began. Afternoon tea. ice cream and soft drinks were supplied. The combined efforts of an enthusiastic committee contributed greatly to the success of the function. Items, vocal and instrumental, were rendered by Mr Reg Stevens, Mr J. Laurenson, and Norm. Carson’s dance orchestra.
