The ex-Kaiser William has shaved off his beard. Shortly after his arrival in exile in Holland he allowed his moustache to droop and his beard to grow. This gave him a patriarchal appearnace. Of late, however, the exiled monarch has thought it necessary to make himself look younger. After ail., he is nearly seventy years of age, and as German monarchists are loudly tailing for him again he thinks he must not look too old. Congratulations to the Hon T. M. .Wilford upon his acceptance of the portfolio of Minister of Justice have been extended by the executive of the Canterbury Justices of the Peace Association. Mr Wilford will be invited to attend a luncheon organised by the association in his honour, upon his , next visit to Christchurch.
