At the Anglican Church of St Philip, in Beckenham Street, considerable additions and alterations have been effected. A new parish hall was recently opened and this h-.s been used for church services whilst the church itself has been in the hands of the buiider. The church is now completed and is transformed by the addition of an apsidal sanctuary. A new clergy vestry has been added and at the west end a baptisterj' containing the original font that stood in St Mary’s Church, Merivale. Beautiful blue altar hangings have been given and the woodwork within has been stained and varnished and the exterior re-painted. The dedication service will take place tomorrow morning at 9.30, followed by a sung Eucharist celebrated by the Bishop, with the vicar. Canon Mutter, as deacon and the Rev R. Newcombe as sub-deacon.
