YACHT CAPSIZES IN CORNWELL CUP TRIAL.

The fourth trial for Takapuna yachts in connection with the Cornwell Cup contest was set down to be sailed at Lyttelton this afternoon. The boats lined up for the start, but owing to the strong north-east wind prevailing., accompanied by very choppy seas, the race had to be called off almost immediately after the start. Wet-u (Norris and Priddy) was first to cross the line, followed by Wee May (Brasscl and Forsyth). Pauline (Priddy and Tyro) was going up to the starting mark when it capsized. Zita and Gadfly were also in trouble and did not attempt to start. Just after the start of the race Wee May nearly capsized, but was well handled by Brassell, and was got out of difficulties nicely though the mainsheet was wrapped round the mast. In view of the dangerous conditions the starter decided to call off the race for the afternoon.
