SANTA'S VISIT.
Santa Claus is coming gaily Sliding down the chimney tops; Round the soot, and thro’ the cobwebs, Down upon the floor he hops! Well he knows what little trear sures Every stocking yawns for most; Not a boy receives a dollie* Tho’ he bears a goodly host. Each small sock is stuffed with prizes, Yet I think he gives the best To the bairn who gives to others, Making poorer children blest! —Bessie Heighton, Christchurch (original).
