COMING-OF-AGE DANCE.
On Tuesday evening Dixieland was gav on the occasion of the celebration of the coming-of-age of Miss Betty Wilkinson, daughter of Air and Airs B. E. Wilkinson, Riccarton. Air and Mrs Wilkinson received their guests, Mrs Wilkinson wearing a frock of black lace, while Miss Betty Wilkinson chose pale green georgette with beige lace. Dancing and competitions were indulged in, and Air Campbell contributed songs. The birthday cake was decorated with twenty-one kewpies. Mr Haworth presented Aliss Wilkinson with a gold key. Competitions were won by Aliss E. Baldwin and Air Gilmour, snowball dance by Miss M’Laren and Air Haworth, Monte Carlo waltz by Air and Airs Campbell, and lucky spot by Miss Telford and Mr J. Comber. The singing of “ Auld Lang Syne ” brought a pleasant evening to a close.
