WEDDINGS.

TIMMS—MOONEY. An evening wedding took place recently at St Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Ferry Road, the contracting parties being Doris Irene Alooney, sister of Airs J. 11. Vivian, and John Horace, eldest son of Air and Airs J. H. Timms, of 16, Alatlock Street, Woolston. The church was decorated with Christmas and arum lilies. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev L. Al’Alaster. The bride entered the church with her brother-in-law, Air J. 11. Vivian, to the strains of the “Wedding Alarch,” played by the organist, Air C. Hall. Her frock was of white brocaded satin trimmed with silver lace and brilliants. The handsome embroidered veil hung in graceful folds from a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a; shower bouquet of lilies and sweet peas. The bridesmaids were Alisses Mavis and Winifred Timms, sisters of the bridegroom, who respectively wore dainty frocks of pale blue and pink crepe de chine, trimmed with lace, also coronets of flowers and tulle, and carried shower bouquets of flowers to match. Two little flower girls, Philis Vivian and Alonica James, nieces of the bride, wore dainty frocks of pink and blue crepe de chine, trimmed with cream lace and ribbon, with bandeaux of rosebud trimmings. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Air S. Timms, while Mr E. Aladdren was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Al’Donald Alemorial Hall, Aid win’s Road, where Airs J. H. Timms received her guests in a navy blue crepe de chine frock, trimmed with cream lace, and coat of black repp, with hat to match. She carried a bouquet of scarlet roses and fern. About seventy sat down to the breakfast. The usual toasts were honoured, after which the hall was cleared, when dancing, singing and games were enjoyed until midnight. Herb Walton’s band supplied the music. The happy couple left early by motor, travelling north.

TIIOAISON—WOODS. A wedding was solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Alethven, on Wednesday. The Rev R. Alorgan was the officiating minister. The bride was Ellen Ethel, third daughter of Mr and Airs F. Woods, Highbank, and the bridegroom Andrew Philip, eldest son of Air and Airs A. Thomson, 1 of MethThe bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful long-sleev-ed dress of ivory souple satin. The veil of ivory tulle, handsomely embroidered, was arranged with a wreath of orange blossom, and clusters of orange blossom at either side. Her bouquet was of cream roses, jessamine and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister, Aliss Emily Woods, who wore a dainty frock of rose-pinlc crepe de chine, shirred at the waistline and finished with a large velvet flower on the shoulder. Her hat was pink crocheted straw trimmed with flowers and gold tassels. Her bouquet was of sweet peas and roses and maidenhair fern, which harmonised with her frock. Air Arthur Thomson, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. When the happy couple left by motor for their honeymoon, which is being spent in the North Island, the bride’s travelling dress was pink crepe de chine with a tailored black silk repp coat. Her hat was a biscuit-coloured straw, prettily trimmed.
