CHRISTCHURCH MAN WILL GO TO KEW AS STUDENT GARDENER.
The Canterburj' Horticultural Society has been advised by Dr Arthur W. Hill, director of Kew Gardens, London, that Mr Clarence H. Jones, supervisor of the bog garden and native section
of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, has been accepted as a student gardener at Kew. Mr Jones, who is twentyone years of age, is the first student gardener to be selected from Canterbury to go to Kew. He will leave for the Old Country early in the New Year. The committee of the Canterbury Horticultural Society has decided to send a letter to Mr Jones congratulating him on his appointment.
