An Extraordinary Gazette issued yesterday announces that Parliament has been prorogued till March 28, 1929. The Cathedra! was filled last evening when Dr J. C. Bradshaw gave an organ recital of Christmas music. Amongst the items was Dubois’s “ The March of the Magi Kings.” In this composition is indicated the tramp of the Eastern potentates, and the Star of Bethlehem serenely shines on, the effect being represented by a long sustained note in one of the highest registers of the organ, which ingeniously accords with all the harmonies of the composition. Three of Handel’s compositions from “ The Messiah,” were played, the “ Pastoral Symphony,” the c horus “ For Unto Us a Child is Born.” and the “ Hallelujah ” chorus. The other items were: “Noel” (Louis l'Aquin), “ Rhapsodie sur des Cantiques Bretons ” (Saint Saens), " Nazareth ” (Gounod), “ Pastorale in F Major” (Theodore Kullak), “ Normandy Carol ” and “ Adeste Fideles ” (Guilrriant), and “Noel Ecossais,” a Scottish carol.
