LESS ANXIETY NOW FELT FOR THE KING.
(Received December 20, 1.35 p.m.) LONDON, December 19. To-night’s bulletin combined with the closing remarks of the authoritative review provide really the best news from the Palace for a long time. It is officially stated that there is now less anxiety at the Palace concerning his Majesty’s condition. Nevertheless it is insisted that the oft-repeat-ed warning regarding anxiety is still applicable. Further unchecked progress must continue for several days before absolute confidence can be felt. However, every bulletin which notes a little more progress is another step in the right direction. Six doctors were in consultation tonight, Dr Whitby, the bacteriologist, Sir Stanley Hewett, Lord Dawson, Sir Hugh Rigby, Dr Howitt and Dr Woods. The two last-named again applied the ray treatment. Sir Stanley Hewett is staying at the Palace. The Prince of Wales dined with the Queen.—Australian Press Association. ANOTHER SERVICE OF INTERCESSION HELD. The special united service of intercession for the King in the Cathedral to-day was conducted by the Rev k William Greenslade, chairman of the *North Canterbury Methodist District. The service started with a reading from Matthew 6, after which the special intercessory prayers were read.
