CANTERBURY CLUB HOLDS PIGEON RACE
During the past week-end eighteen members of the Canterbury Pigeon Plying Club had fifty-one birds liberated for their first 500 odd mile race. Captain Inman, of the s.s. Walmea liberated the birds two miles off Cast Cape at 10.25 o.m. on Sunday, and the winning birds were timed in 4S minutes past eleven on Monday morning, the actual time for the race, after deducting time allowed for darkness, being 171ir 20min 42sec. Results:—
Dr M’Kilop, IT. Browning and G. Robertson timed in sec-ond birds. Mr H. Browning will hold the Club Cup for one year. Winners of nominated bird prizes were:—ll. Browning, W. Simes, W. Haggar and Dr A. C. M’Killop.
