YOUTH KILLED IN FALL FROM MAST AT 2YA STATION
LOST HOLD, AND DROPPED 150 FEET. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 19. The 2YA wireless station on Mount Victoria was the scene of a fatality tonight, when Melville Wood, aged eighteen. who resided with his parents at 58. Roseneath Terrace, fell from the top of a wireless mast, the distance being about 150 feet. It is understood that the youth fell just as he had climbed to the top. Death was instantaneous, his neck having been broken. There was a very high w’ind blowing while he was climbing the mast. An inquest will be held.
