Two district bays at the last winter show exceeded in their cost the allowance of £4O granted by the Winter Show Executive. To the meeting of the executive yesterday afternoon the Ashburton and the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Associations each wrote asking the executive if it could make a grant to defray the extra expense incurred. Several members stated that it was definitely understood that £4O was the maximum amount to be spent on each bay, while others argued that the associations should, be reimbursed this year, provided a definite maximum sum were fijfced for the next show. The matter was referred to. the chairman of the A. and P.' Association and the Manufacturers’ Association, together with the chairman of the Bays Committee, to make a recommendation. The Lyttelton Times Printing De* partment is equipped with the most up-to-date facilities for the production of every class of high grade printed matter, and is always at your service. Ring 1890. X
