Danny Boy has been penalised 12yds in the President’s Handicap at the South Wairarapa Trotting Club’s meeting.

AWAPUNI NOTES. Per Press Association. PALMERSTON N., December 20. Excellent conditions prevailed for track operations at Awapuni this morning. A number of horses were galloped, although activities are still restricted to the local contingent, none of the visitors having yet arrived. The major portion of the work was carried out on No. 3 grass, which was in great order. Archeria, after conceding Disrank a start over the early portion, beat his companion home in running three furlongs on the grass in 38-sec. Wyeford and Cold Air finished on terms at the end of half a mile in 53sec. Home Made and Atareria drew clear of Red Bank in the run home at the end of a mile task on the plough, the last seven furlongs taking lmin 38sec. Kilorell was going equally as well as Lin Arlington at the close of a five Furlongs sprint on the grass in lmin 6sec. Miss Field and Lucky Bag finished on terms at the end of five furlongs, occupying lmin 6sec, the latter having an advantage in the weights. Kalos finished stronger than Elicit over half a mile in 52 3-ssec on the plough. Holus Bolus had the measure of Inflame in a gallop over half a mile on the_ grass in lmin 4sec. Keddar had his head in front of Novar at the end of a mile, the last seven furlongs being run in lmin 33sec. There was little between Kilmiss and Imperial Spark at the close of a mile on the grass, the last seven taking lmin 32sec. Mister Gamp was given his first gallop since his return to the active ranks, running five furlongs on the plough in lmin 10 2-osec. Locarno beat Peneus over half a mile on the plough in 53 l-ssec. Dobbin experienced little difficulty in beating Patearoa over half a mile" on the grass, the time being 53sec. Clarinda and Hymestrason did long steady pace work. Moutoa Fame, Callanmore, Statuary, Vexatious, Killogie, Skvrider and others did useful tasks. LADY TRAINER INJURED, Miss Maher, the lady mentor, met with a nasty accident yesterday when pursuing a horse round a paddock. The saddle on the horse she was riding slipped round, and- Miss Maher " was thrown heavily, breaking several ribs. ELLERSLIE NOTES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 20. I Visiting horses arrived by special train at noon, carrying , nearly sixty racers and trotters. The Ellerslie tracks were dead after the overnight rain. On the two-year-old trackj Gold Tinge beat Desert Song in the only gallop of four furlongs in olsee. - On the No. 2 grass track the first to work were Gold Money; King Emerald and Eager Rose, who got to the end of four furlongs in 52sec. Gold Money finished best. Lomint ran home from the six furlong post in lmin 22sec, and did it nicely. Ro\-al Flower and Critique were on terms at the end of six furlongs in lmin 21 2-ssec. Corinax ran right away from T-hurs-by, while running around in lmin 47 3sssec, the last six furlongs being done in lmin 19 4-ssec. Perception was sent over the circuit, but was not going fast at any time, taking 58 2-ssec to run the last four furlongs. Hoylake jumped off at the six furlong post, and, after running the first three in 39 2-ssec, he completed his task in lmin 21sec and was never extended. Sir Russell did strong work over a round in lmin 54 4-ssec. His two stable companions, Talisker and Vertigern, strode over the circuit in lmin 57sec. Archeno ran the last six furlongs of her work in lmin 28sec. Sir Mond, Jolly Money and Z4ne Grey were bunched at the end of six furlongs in lmin 22sec. Sleepy Sol and Golden Wedding were not extended over a similar journey in Winsome Boy was going better than Tea Money at the conclusion of six furlongs in lmin 19 4-ssec. Ilyde Park and Modest Boy got through a six furlongs task in lmin 24 l-ssec.

Lady’s Boy was too good for Night Town over a similar journey, and registered lmin 33sec.

Taneriri ran the same distance in lmin 19 3-osec.

After breakfast, Aussie. who was plated and carried a light boy, jumped off at the five furlong post, and, after running the first two furlongs in 2osec, completed the full distance in lmin 2see. It was a good gallop. Bannock and Yaqui finished together over five furlongs in lmin 2.lsec. Papatu was sent round, which he traversed in lmin 49Jsec, the last six taking lmin 22 l-ssec. Blago easily accounted for Karamu while running a circuit in lmin 52 2-ssec. Awarere put plenty of work into a five furlong gallop, which he did in Bizarro was slightly in front of Abbott's Delight and Mangaiti in lmin 51 4-ssec. Clockwork ran the last six furlongs of his work in lmin 28 l-ssec. Good Boy was better than Mon Star at the end of five furlongs, which took lmin 7 2-ssec. Silvermine and Bright Glow arrived and exercised on the sand. The former was particularly pleasing.
