MR ARTHUR SIMS RETURNS TO CITY.
AMBASSADOR IN ENGLAND FOR N.Z. CRICKET COUNCIL
Mr Arthur Sim, principal of the firm of Sims, Cooper and Co., frozen meat exporters, returned to Christchurch today after a lengthy visit to the Old Country.
As an ex-Canterbury and New Zealand representative cricketer, Mr Sims has always acted as an ambassador for the Xew Zealand Cricket Council during his visits to England, and he had a great deal to do with making the arrangements for the New Zealand team's tour of Great Britain last year. He does not hold any official position as the representative of the Xew Zealand Cricket Council, but he has gladly offered his services to the council, and his help has been very greatly appreciated. It is the intention of the council to arrange an interview with Mr Sims at an earl\* date for the purpose of discussing cricket matters with him. Mr Sims has been a keen cricketer all his life. He played for Xew Zealand against Victoria in 1899. and against Australia in 1905 and 1910. and in 191311 he brought an Australian team on a tour of X'ew Zealand. It was during this tour that Victor Trumper made his famous score of 292 at Lancaster Park.
