FOOTBALL CLUB’S PICNIC HELD AT MOTUKARARA.

The Merivale Football Club’s picnic at Motukarara on Sunday attracted a big: crowd. Jn addition to those who travelled by the electric train, many motored to Waihora Park. A programme of sports and entertainments provided plenty of interest for the picnickers, and the day proved thoroughly enjoyable. Father Christmas attended and presented gifts to the children. A display was given by pupils of Mr C. Buekett, and their work was v&ry pleasing. Items by the Tuahlwl Maoris were popular. During the day selections were played by the Papanui Silver Band.
