TRAVELLER FELL DOWN 70FT SHAFT.
Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH. December 18. A man named Dougherty, a commercial traveller, from Christchurch, was packing foxgloves at Larriker’s Hill, Kumara, with his mother-in-law this morning, when he suddenly fell down a 70ft shaft. A rescue party, with a rope, got him out after some difficulty. He suffered injuries to the head and side and was taken to Westland Hospital.
