INTERBOROUGH CONTESTS.

A conference of. delegates from the Sumner and the New Brighton United Sports Association took place at Sumner last Thursday evening, Mr G. F. Allen presiding. Present —Captain Owles (Mavor of New Brighton), and Messrs G. Bishop. H. Muirson, H. N. Chapman, C. L. Allen, and H. Bishop. It was reported that New Brighton had won ten matches and Sumner six, and that New Brighton had defaulted in croquet and fire brigade, and Sumner in school basket-ball. The Cadets’ rifle match was deleted for this year ° n £- -was decided to hold the school cricket match in December of each year for the future. The inclusion of rowing and outboard motor boat competitions was discussed. and the matter held over. It was reported that arrangements had been made to hold a bowling match in January. The meeting resolved that the interborough shield should be presented at the athletic meeting to be held in Sumner in February, and that the athletic shield should be presented at the same time.
