LEICESTER’S WEALTH CLIMBING UP LADDERS OF WOMEN'S STOCKINGS.
(Special to the “ Star.”) LONDON, September 7. Professor Leonard Hill, at a conference of sanitary inspectors at Leicester, said he had encouraged a diminution of the clothing women had indulged in. This diminution might be antagonistic to the welfare of manufacturers, but Leicester depended largely upon hosiery, and Leicester’s wealth was climbing up the ladders of women’s stockings. (Laughter.)
