NEW RECORD MADE IN PIGEON RACE.
The Christchurch Racing Pigeon Society flew its first old-bird race ou the northern route last week-end, from Kaitoki, a distance of 223 miles airline. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 10.5 a.m. in very good wreather, enabling the winning bird. Courier, the property of Mr H. A. Pearson, to establish new record for this distance. The following is the result;— yds per min. H. A. Pearson’s Courier 1357 W. Puddle’s The Moth 1383 Dr M’Killop’s Consistent 1382 A. Pegley’s State Express .... 1381 S. Wiffin’s Do It 1379 B. Pegley’s No. 712 1377 R. W. Sime's Uealey 1371 A. JTi ergs’s No. 463 1370 Hitchings and Willoughby’s Cast Iron 1257 R. Taylor’s No. 960 1254 p. Iladdon’s Dynamite 1244 W. Puddle wins special nominated bird prize.
