GOOD ACCOMMODATION NOW AT LANCASTER PARK, SAYS BOARD.

7 The annual meeting ,of the Lancaster Park Board of Control -was held last nigTit, Mr MX Simpson presiding. Prosent wore—Messrs W. H. Winsor. J. K. Moloney. C. S. M'Cully, R. 1,; Ward, S. Thompson, A. E. M'Phail and J. O. M’Gi-.Ui'.'i'ay. (secretary). The balance-sheet showed £2505 14s lOd revenue and ‘£14.182’ 1 Ss‘ 6d assets. The credit balance was £6B- 6s. Mr Simpson, in moving the adoption of- the--report, said tliat although it could not be expected to give stand accommodation for all patrons, he hoped the board would always keep this ideal m view whenever fiuanc.es permitted. He paid a tribute to Mr M-Cully for his voluntary work at the park. During the year the embankment - was tarred and this made a clean, dry surface but in the speaker’s- opinion another ’coat was needed. There was now good accommodation for a very largt; crowd and during this season the ground had never been taxed to its-fullest capacity He wished to thank Mr Winsor for his practical help at the- eround. The finances, said the speaker, showed a credit balance as against a .iehit last year. Mr M'Phail, in seconding the adoption of the balance-sheet., congratulated the board on its- successful year jrj.e expressed satisfaction at .tho result* shown. The balance-sheet was adopted. A motion expressing the boards hearty appreciation of the • work of Mr M’Cully during the. construction of the new stand was passed. Mr R, B. Ward was elected chairman. Mr A. E. M’Phail was elected deputychairman, and -Messrs W. U. Winsor A. E. M’Phail and W. Simpson (chairman) as grounds comn.Tttee. Messrs MR c hell and Aldridge were re-elected Two wickets at the park were granted to the East Christchurch Cricket Club for the season. Tlie use of four practice wickets from Saturday, September 29, was-granted to the Linwood-Cricket -Club-. .
