Johnny .Leckie (Sst 13-lb), Dunodin, knocked out Dicky Vercoe ; <9st), Blenheim, to-rrnght at the end of ' the. sixth round of a. scheduled ten-round professional bout. Vercoe was on the defence all through and was too slow for his clever opponent.- The Blenheim bov adopted the crouch and. when he did open out, he - missed : badly against Leckje’s clever footwork. The champion won every round and in the sixth finished Vercoe with a short right hook to the point.
