JUNIOR REFORMERS HAVE SOCIAL GATHERING.
Another successful social gathering was held by the members of the Junior Reform League in the Canterbury Automobile Rooms, Worcester Street, on Tuesday evening. Dir A. Burrage presided over an excellent attendance, and during the evening addresses were delivered by Mr J. O. Jameson, who acted as host for the evening, and Messrs F. J. Needham and E. H. S. Hamilton, after which a number of questions were asked. Mr Lionel Williamson also spoke on “The Art of Debating.” • It was decided to start a debating class immediately, and sev- ; eral names were handed in from those willing to join. Mr L. Williamson was appointed to the executive of the league in place of Mr G. Dawe, who had resigned. It was announced by the chairman that next week's function would take the form of a mock election, and four candidates, representing Reform, Labour, United and an Independent, would address the meeting and answer questions, after which ballot papers would be distributed and an election would be held.
