FOURTH EDITION. TECHNICAL BEAUS. •WELLINGTON, October 11. The Minister of Education announced to-day that technological examinations will be held in New Zealand in connection with technical schools, taking the place, in a large measure, of the examinations hitherto held by the Education Department for the City and Guilds cf London Institute. The examinations will be based on the provisional syllabus issued last year to Technical schools. The students will sit in November. BUSS PIKES NEARLY OUT. The bush fires on Mount Fyffe, near Kaikoura, which had been raging since last Monday, were practically burned out this morning, according to advice received from Kaikoura. The reports of damage are conflicting, but it has heen that there have been email Rtnok losses.
