HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR NEWFOUNDLAND, MR V. GORDON, DIES.

Mr Victor Gordon, C.M.G., High Commissioner for Newfoundland, died in a London nursing home on Saturday', at the age of forty-four. He had never completely recovered from the effects of injuries received in France in 1917, and last week he underwent an operation. During the .Great War he served with a Scottish infantry regiment in Gallipoli, Egypt and France. Later he became secretary to the High Commissioner in London and on the latter’s resignation in 1922 he acted as High Commissioner, receiving the full appointment two years afterwards.— British Official Wireless.
