PRIZES AWARDED TO ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS.
The final meeting of the Christchurch Accountant Students’ Society, for this session was held last evening in the Stock Exchange. Mr C. C. Holland occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The meeting was for the purposes of awarding the prizes for the various competitions. The first result was announced by Mr R. M. Watson for the best essay on Kardex application—Messrs G. W. Skelton and C. O. Spiller (five guineas each) 1, equal; Miss E. H. Bull (two guineas) 3. All prizes were donated by Mr Wa'-son. The winning essays were then read by the successful competitors. Mr H. T. Whittingham announced the results of his bookkeeping examination open to those members who had not yet passed stage I. bookkeeping in the professional accountancy course. Mr Whittingham went over the points in his paper and announced the results as follows: —Mr H. A. P. Hopkins 70. 1; Mr M. S. Moss 66, 2. Mr Hopkins received £5 5s donated by Mr Whittingham and Mr Moss £1 Is donated by Mr R. J- M’Laren. A vote of thanks to those who had set the competitions and donated the prizes was moved by Mr E. Souter and carried by acclamation.
