21,000 DEFENDANTS APPEAR IN COURT.
VIENNA, August 26. A mammoth trial, in which 21,000 defendants sit in tiers of seats in on im pro vised building resembling a sports stadium, been opened at Ryeesoff, in Galicia. The action was brought by the creditors of the co-operative society, “Nuxa,” which failed last year. Sum mooses were served on the members of the society individually, and, in stead of the latter briefing a lawyer, 6000 of them arrived in Court and ere ated pandemonium, besieging the precincts and demanding a personal hear ing. The Court adjourned pending the erection of a special Court room on the local military parade ground. Mean while a dozen trains brought in a furth.er 16,000 defendant*.
