A scrub fire broke out in the Rawhiti Domain, New Brighton, yesterday afternoon, but the prompt action of the local fire brigade quickly suppressed the blaze. v A lecture on “Problems of the Pacific” was given la.st ■ night to the League of Nations Union by Mr J. E. Strachan. On the motion of the j chairman, Mr W. T. G. Airey, the lecturer was accorded a hearty vote of 1 thanks.
