ANGLO-CATHOLIC BISHOP VISITS CHRISTCHURCH.

The visit of Dr Cherrington to Christchurch is arousing considerable interest among churchpeople, because since his visit to St Michael's for its festival at this time last year his work has been, brought into public notice by every newspaper in the Dominion. The Bishop is a pioneer of the AngloCatholic movement in the Church of England in New Zealand. He is help ing many people to understand the position of those whose belief and practices were made so prominent during the discussions on the revision of ‘the Prayer Book. Like ail Anglo-Catholics he claims that where there are bishops in the succession from the Apostles, as in the Anglican communion, there is the Catholic Church of the New Testament.
