MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CHRISTCHURCH. (Before 'Mr-£. D. Mosley, S.M.). DRUNKENNESS. For drunkenness, a female statutory first offender was fined 20s and cab hire 2s 6d, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. A first offender was fined 20s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. AN OBSTRUCTION. For leaving his car so that ft obstructed a footpath, Albert Graham Hack was fined 5s and costs. UNLICENSED DRIVER. William Humphrey Richards was ordered to pay costs for driving a car without a license. NO LIGHT. For cycling at night without a light Wilford Parsons, who made a voluntary appearance, was fined 10s. REMANDED. Dudley Pollard (Mr Twyneham) who appeared on an affiliation charge, pieaded not guilty and was remanded till October 1. Mr Tracy appeared for the complainant. AN EXEMPTION GRANTED. John Thomas Cook, storekeeper at 850, Lincoln Road, was granted permission to keep his shop open on Saturday afternoons till 6 p.m., and to close on Monday afternoons.
