Southern Cross Will Leave From Sockburn To-morrow.
AIRMEN ARE ADVISED TO GET TO BLENHEIM WITH LEAST POSSIBLE DELAY.
THE SOUTHERN CROSS will make its departure from Sockburn at about 2 p.m. to-morrow. Dr Kidson, Government Meteorologist, has advised Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant Ulm that they should gel to Blenheim with the least possible delay in order to be ready to hop off on the return trip to Australia whenever the weather conditions are favourable.
Trial flights for the Southern Cross are timed for this afternoon, and everything is expected to be in readiness for the departure to-morrow. Dr Kidson was in Christchurch to-day and conferred with the airmen. He will return to Wellington to-night.
