INSTITUTE OF COUNTY CLERKS FORMED.
Per Press Association. .WELLINGTON, September 26. About seventy delegates from all parts of both islands attended the inaugural meeting of the county clerks of New Zealand to-day, when it was unanimously decided to form an organisation to be known as the New Zealand Institute of County Clerks.
.A constitution was.adopted. The Dominion was divided into seven districts, with branches in Auckland (30 counties). Taranaki (10), Wellington (21), Hawke’s Bay (14), West Coast (8), Canterbury. including Marlborough (29), and Otago and Southland (15). The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr F. C. Perry (Waitomo); vice-presidents, Messrs G. Kelby (Ashburton) and F. H. Hudson (Horo- | whenua): secretary and treasurer, Mr J. W. Harding (liawera); executive, Messrs C. A. Cawkwell (Auckland), TT. H. Richardson (Wellington), B. G. Signall (Hawke’s Bay), R. Ellis (Taranaki), D. J. Evans (West Coast), A. A. Readdie (Canterbury) and J. Logan (Otago and Southland); auditor, Mr G. Derbyshire Wanganui). Steps are to be taken to register the institute under the Incorporated Societies Act.
