OFFERING AT GRAND IS CHARMING STUDY.
In “The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come,” the principal feature on the new bill of fare this week, the Grand Theatre is able to present one of the most charming studies that Christchurch picture patrons have had an opportunity of seeing for a considerable time. The film deals very largely with the genius of simple childhood, and in that lies much of its charm and appeal. The story has to do with the adventures of a fourteen-year-old mountain boy, a homeless little wanderer who has no companion and no friend but his faithful dog. As Chad Burford, the boy, Richard Barthelmess gives a fine character study. His efforts are well seconded by Miss Molly O'Day in the leading feminine role. The supporting programme is up to the usual high standard maintained at the Grand, and the music supplied by the Grand Orchestra gives the final touch of pleasure to a really, firstclass evening’s entertainment.
