LONDON, Sept. 25. The Golf Rules Committee at St Andrew’s, acceding to the request of ' the United States Golf Association, lias postponed its decision on the question of sanctioning a larger and lighter ball. The committee refused to sanction stqel shafts. INSUFFICIENT LIGHT. PALMERSTON N., Sept. 26. At an inquest this morning concerning the death of Gyrdon James Thurston, as the result of a motorycle accident on Kimlibolton Road, Ueilding, on the night of September 18, the Coroner returned a verdict of accidental death. The evidence disclosed that deceased, with a companion, was pil-lion-riding on a motor-cycle at eleven o’clock at, night, when they struck a bicycle ridden by a sister of the pillion-rider. ' The Coroner commented tint* it wasi quite, dear it was an accident, and probably the insufficient light j on the motor-cycle, combined with the late hour, might have contributed to the mishap.
