END OF SESSION IS EXPECTED NEXT WEEK.
(Special to the “Star.”) WELLINGTON, September 25. The most emphatic sign of the early termination of the session was provided to-day by the Prime Minister's notice of motion that on and after next Monday the House of Representatives shall sit on Mondays till the end of the session. There was another plain indication in the unexpected presentation of the Public Works Statement. Members expect to complete their labours some time next week, and to have about six weeks in wfcich to carry out the election campaign. This places the general election date at about Wednesday, November 14, but if the session is prolonged beyond the anticipated limit there may be a revision of the election date, as the Prime Minister has not yet committed himself to any specific statement. The remaining order paper is light and there should be no difficulty in carrying out the timetable, which is generally accepted in the lobbies.
