RELIEF DEPOT NOW SHORT OF FOODSTUFFS.

FURTHER DONATIONS ARE BADLY NEEDED. Further supplies of foodstuffs are still badly needed at the central relief depot in Bedford Row, in order to meet the requirements of the families of the unemployed who are receiving assistance at the depot. Up to yesterday, a total of 3837 orders for rations had been issued, sixty-two cases being dealt with during the day. Since the opening of the depot, 844 orders for work to be done in return for rations have also been issued. Several welcome donations were received this morning, but the goods coming in are not nearly sufficient to meet the numerous demands. Fresh vegetables and potatoes are in verv short-supply at present, and donations would be greatly welcomed. THE REGISTRATIONS. This morning one single man and ten married men registered at the Government Labour Bureau. Three men were placed in private employment, twenty were selected for public works at Parnassus and ten for forestry work at Eyrewell.
