BIRTHDAY PARTY.
On Saturday evening Mr and Mrs G. Brown, of Queensbury Street, Burwood, entertained a number of friends in honour of the coming-of-age of their daughter Nettie. The Burwood Hall was very prettily decorated with flowers, streamers and balloons for the occasion. A sumptuous supper was laid in the supper-room, the tables of which were beautifully decorated with flowers. Mr J. Liggins proposed the toast of the guest of the evening, which was drunk with musical honours, to which Miss Brown responded. The evening was spent in games and dancing, the music for the latter being supplied by the Red and Gold Dance Band. Vocal items were given by Miss Maisie Taylor and Mr Bell. A musical item was given by Mr Orton Low, while Miss Marie Webb contributed a fancy dance. Extras were played by Miss Loder, Miss Gowanlock and Mr W. Fever.
