WEDDINGS.
M’CRACKEN—MILNER. A wedding was solemnised at St An drew’s Presbyterian Church, Stratford, recently by the Rev J. MacGregor, the contracting parties being Ida Milner, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Milner, of Amberley, North Canterbury, and W. M’Cracken, Whangamomona The bride, who was given away b> Mr C. Moore, wore a sleeveless pink georgette frock embroidered in sequins ; her long pink embroidered veil, held by a double coronet of orange blossoms, fell in graceful folds, forming a train. Her shower bouquet was of beautiful pink and white roses. Mis* Lindo Moore, the only bridesmaid, wore sea green georgette, with hat en suite She carried a lemon and gold shower bouquet. The two flower-girls were Norma and Doris Lentell, who looked dainty in gold shot taffeta gowns, with Dutch caps. They carried posies ol violets. They also wore pretty cream wraps. Miss Moon officiated at the organ The reception was held at the Windsor Tea Rooms. Later on in the after noon, the happy pair left by car foi Auckland and Rotorua, where the honeymoon was spent. The bride’s travelling costume was of pink cloth and a hat to match and a fur coat. GOWER—HUNTER. A quiet wedding, but one which occasioned considerable interest in Lyttelton and the surrounding bays, was solemnised recently at Holy Trinity Church, when Elsie Eliza, second daughter of Mr and Mrs John. Hunter, Diamond Harbour, was married to Sidney William, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. D. Gower. Lyttelton. The Rev T. M. Curnow was tha officiating clergyman, and Mr Swaby played the wed ding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming sleeveless frock of ivory taffetas, the full skirt, composed of tiny frills edged with silver lace, falling in an uneven hem-line. The veil, which formed a train, wa:' held in place by a coronet with touches of silver and orange blossom, and tne bride carried a bouquet of freesias and other spring flowers. She was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Hunter, as the only bridesmaid, whose dainty frock was of shell pink georgette, with plain bodice and full skirt, the scallops of which were outlined in blue and silver. With this was worn a picture crinoline hat of the same shade. She carried a bouquet of pink and mauve flowers. Mr Leonard Gower attended his brother *s best man.
At the reception, held later at the Excelsior Hall, the guests were received by Mrs Hunter, who wore a dress of finely-pleated navy crepe de chine, relieved with ecru georgette, and a hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of scarlet flowers and foliage. A smart three-piece suit of blue and fawn, with a hat of corresponding colours, was worn by Mrs Gower, who carried a bouquet of spring flowers. When Mr and Mrs S. W. Gower left on their wedding tour, the latter was wearing a jumper suit of rose beige crepe de chine, a hat to match, and a coat of navy repp and black satin.
