EUCHRE PLAYERS WILL PETITION HOUSE.

A meeting of the Euchre Restrictions Petitions Committee was held in the Woolston Public Library on Tuesday evening. Present —Messrs G. M’Cree (chairman), W. Cooper (hon secretary), E. R- Adcock, H. A. Taylor, F. A. Thorne and G. H. Adcock.

The secretary reported that 150 petition forms had been printed and u. number .had been sent out to various committees which it was thought would be interested. The response had been good. It was decided to send the petitions on hand to Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., with a covering letter.

It was decided to call a meeting of committees interested in euchre tournaments for the purpose of forming a Canterbury euchre committees’ association which will be mainly used for the purpose of keeping private enterprise out of euchre tournaments. This meeb ing will be held next week and the date and place will be advertised later.
