SPORTS BODIES HAVE DISPUTE OVER GROUND.

(Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND, August 22.

A conclusion has been reached in legal proceedings between the Auckland Football Association and Blandford Park Stadium Limited. The case was set down for hearing in the Supreme Court yesterday and to-day, but on Monday the Football Association served on the company a notice of discontinuance of the proceedings.

The origin of the action was a lease by the Football Association in October 1925, of Blandford Park, to the com pany for its use during the summer months for sports gatherings. The company had considerable excavations made to form a cycle track and a few months later landslips occurred on adjacent properties. The owners began actions for damages and for several months correspondence took place between the association and the company on the question of liability. When no settlement was reached a writ was issued bv the association in January last. alleging that the company had committed many breaches of the lease and claiming possession of the propertv and £2235 damages. The compant' replied denving liability and claiming ♦ha* anv alteration* and excavations had been made with tb e consent of the association A legal defence in respect if the execution of the lease was also pleaded
