AKAROA HARBOUR RECOMMENDED FOR SANDERS CUP RACE.

At the annual meeting of the Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Club, the matter of the location of the next Sanders Cup race came up for discussion.

It was finally decided that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee that the invitation of the Akaroa Borough Council to hold the next race on the Akaroa Harbour be accepted. The commodore, Mr J. D. M’Coll, said that, at a recent meeting of delegates of various clubs, it was recommended that the next contest be held at Akaroa. He desired to obtain the feeling of the meeting in the matter. The secretary, Mr H. D. Leeming, said that an Akaroa committee would arrange the entertainment part and a sailing committee would control the races. Mr M’Coll moved :-~“That it. be a recommendation to the incoming com mittee that the invitation from the Akaroa Borough Council be accepted.” Mr F. Morrison: Wouldn’t it be best to wait till the new association is formed?

Mr A- T. Round said that he did not think it was for the Christchurch Club to say where the contest should be held. Mr M’Coll: It is only a recommendation. Mr G. G. Andrews said that lie thought Akaroa would be a very suit able place for the contest. It was just a question of finance. Mr M’Coll’s motion was eventually carried.
