An old rickety table which had seen long use in the meeting room of the North Canterbury Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union, was offer ed at auction recently, and was knock ed down to a buyer for 3s. There was laughter when the union secretary reported this afternoon that though the table had brought 3s, that was the gross amount. The net price was fid.
